Silversea Penthouse – Our Client’s Initial Design Brief

The objective of this project was to create an elegant, yet luxurious home, where the panoramic view of the picturesque coastline is the star.

We were engaged by our clients to perform a full turn-key project. This included the initial design conceptualisation stage, material selection, bespoke furnishings, construction documentation, interior styling services and full project management from start to finish.

The areas of focus were the living room, dining room, outdoor balconies, master bedroom, ensuite, son’s bedroom and the staircase.

The client came to us with a clear intent.

Firstly, they wanted a place where they can entertain their family and friends. They wanted their guests to be is awe from the very first moment they stepped through the front door.

Secondly, they wanted a home where they could feel comfortable and peaceful. Our clients work long hours, and mostly from home, so they needed a place that is calming and relaxing when they are not working in their home office.

Thirdly, they wanted a home where their teenage son can bring friends over, and a place where they would not have to worry about accidental spills when entertaining guests.

As the client is only going to be living in the apartment for two years, their intent for all of the new furnishings and built-in carpentries was for them to be modular and moveable so that they can fit into future homes if required.

Most importantly, the client wanted a timeless design where the interior does not overshadow the incredible coastal view.

As the client is only going to be living in the apartment for two years, their intent for all of the new furnishings and built-in carpentries was for them to be modular and moveable so that they can fit into future homes if required.

Most importantly, the client wanted a timeless design where the interior does not overshadow the incredible coastal view.

As the house is very angular with lots of straight lines, we used organically shaped furnishings and décor to soften the look of the apartment, and to make the space feel less rigid. The pops of colour, which comes from the décor, means that they are interchangeable depending on the client’s mood or the current season.

Whilst keeping the colour scheme muted, the furniture pieces highlighted in this apartment were unique and a statement all on their own. The designs reflected sophistication and restraint, whilst maintaining a sense of opulence.

This modern luxury apartment evokes the emotion of awe, comfort and romanticism, which is exactly what the client desired and envisaged from the beginning of this project.
